Volunteer...
Volunteers are a crucial part of the survival of L.A.W.S. A private non-profit organization, we rely heavily on the assistance of caring and hard working volunteers. If you are 14 yrs or older, love animals and want to make a difference in their lives, the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society offers many opportunities.
Pick up an application at the shelter, or call 652-0588 to receive one in the mail.
Foster an Animal in Need...
Our foster program places animals in private homes where they are provided with loving care, good nutrition and safety. LAWS provides the food, medical care and supplies. You provide the love.
Animals which require fostering are usually ill, injured, recuperating or just too young for adoption. The amount of foster care that an animal needs varies widely, from bottle feeding kittens or puppies that need care every few hours to caring for injured and recuperating adult animals that are fine alone while you are at work. The reward of fostering is knowing that the care you provided has helped an animal find a permanent home.
LAWS is always looking for foster homes. If you are interested in fostering an animal in need, please contact the shelter at: (705)652-0588.
Become a Member...
...when you join the Lakefield Animal Welfare Society
We depend on our members in many ways. A $20 membership includes:
- subscription to our newsletter
- special invitations to shelter events
- one vote at our Annual General Meeting
- satisfaction in knowing that you are helping the hundreds of animals that come through our door each year
