Animal Services: Report a missing, found, or injured animal
The Peterborough Humane Society's Animal Services department provides education and enforcement related to animal control by-laws throughout Peterborough County, including the City of Peterborough, Selwyn Township, the Township of Douro-Dummer, the Municipality of Trent Lakes, and the Township of Otonabee-Monaghan.

For animal control matters in any of these municipalities, including situations where you've found a stray or injured animal, please contact animalcontrol@ptbohs.com or call 705-745-4722 extension. 215.

If your situation has occurred after hours, please contact your nearest 24-hour Emergency Vet Clinic.

To report an animal that is falling victim to expected abuse and/or neglect, please contact the Provincial Animal Welfare Service (PAWS) at 1-833-926-4625 (1-833-9-ANIMAL).

Orphaned or Injured Wildlife:
Please contact the Toronto Wildlife Centre or visit Ontario Wildlife Rescue.

Kawartha Widlife Centre closed in 2024, however, that organization is directing calls for service to Shades of Hope Wildlife Refuge in Pefferlaw (705-437-4654), Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue in Bowmanville (905-442-1648) and Woodlands Wildlife Sanctuary in Minden (705-286-1133).
