Fall 2026 Building Upgrades & Service Notice

We have exciting news: LAWS is undergoing some interior building upgrades!

Maintenance and updates are an important part of keeping our facilities comfortable and functioning well, and we’re pleased to share that some much-needed improvements are now underway.

We’re grateful to be working with a team of contractors who understand that compassionate care of our animals comes first. Their workplan ensures they can complete their work in a timely, safe, and animal-conscious fashion.

 

Appointment-Only Operations

Starting on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, we will be operating by appointment only for members of the public visiting the shelter.

If you are considering adoption, we would still love to introduce you to the animals here! Working in limited space means we need to prepare for your visit by ensuring our cats are available on-site and our staff are expecting you.

We encourage you to review our adoptable cats in advance and let us know who you would like to meet during your appointment.

Note: Dog visits are always by appointment. Please submit an application if you are interested in adopting a dog.

 

Donations & Purchases

We will do our best to accommodate financial donations and the purchase of 50/50 raffle tickets at the front desk during normal opening hours.

If you are able, we encourage you to use our online options:

Donations of food and supplies are still welcome and appreciated!

These can be delivered to the donation bin outside the shelter on the left. We will not have space to accept them through the front door of the shelter, but you can follow the signs.
