The Sweet Taste of Success in the 2026 Chocolate Creations Festival

During Selwyn Township’s PolarFest over the final weekend in January, LAWS participated once again in the Lakefield Village Lions Club’s Chocolate Creations Festival. We brought back our kissing booth, reimagined this time as the Cuddle-a-Cat Booth, giving visitors the chance to pose for photos with some of our most charming residents. We’re thrilled to share that the weekend was an adoption success, with a number of cats and kittens meeting their new families.

We also debuted something new: a line of “love note” greeting cards for Valentine’s Day, featuring portraits of our very own adoptable animals. They were a hit from the moment we set them out. (We still have a few boxes left at $10 each, and they’re not holiday-specific. Just drop by if you’d like a set.)

To top it all off, LAWS took home the Festival’s creativity award for the second year in a row. With cats this photogenic, are you surprised? Thank you to the Lakefield Village Lions Club, and to everyone who stopped by, adopted, and spread the love. We can’t wait for next year!
